Today was a long day, so I don't have a lot of blogging in me, but I did want to introduce my next few posts. I am going to analyze the different sections of the Lord's Prayer and how it can work as a framework for a daily conversation with God.
A friend showed me something like this in college and it has acted as a template for my conversations with God ever since. It's not very formal, but it is structured enough it keeps my head in the right place and has acted as a bridge for some dark times in my life when I didn't feel much like praying at all.
But for today, here the real thing from the New American Standard Bible and Bible Gateway website:
Matthew 6:9-13 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
9 “Pray, then, in this way:
‘Our Father who is in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 ‘Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 ‘Give us this day [a]our daily bread.
12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from [b]evil. [c][For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’]
