Well, it's only day 2 of the Lent/gratitude Blog and I already get to practice gratitude.
I came home last night to find my husband cleaning up a kitchen floor full of water from a broken hose under the sink. It took us a couple of hours to get the worst of it cleaned up, and I'll spent today working on the fallout.
And still I am grateful. I Bless His Holy name.
- It could have been much, much worse. We obviously don't know how long the water had been flowing, been long enough it covered the large kitchen and the edge of two surrounding rooms, and my husband said it was as deep as three inches in some spots. However, we were able to clean up most of it with towels and a mop. It's not hard to imagine several scenarios where it was much more damaging and wide spread.
- Once the immediate crisis passed and we calmed down, we discussed some of the causes leading up to the problem and decided on some healthy changes we both needed to make. All thing do work for good for those who love the Lord.
Blessed be the name of the Lord. I am grateful.
