I have just started reading Exodus and have come to the account of the conversation between Moses and God about going to Egypt to demand the freedom of the Hebrew people.
Moses' shepherding staff caught my eye and I made a note of it in my notes journal. It almost becomes its own character as the story unfolds and it got me thinking that it must symbolize something fundamental, like Jesus or the Holy Spirit. ...continue reading "The Staff of Moses-Dynamic Post"

I've started to reread the Bible and am going through Genesis. Yesterday, before we left for church, I read Genesis 28. In this chapter Jacob is leaving his home, basically running from his brother, Esau, who wants to kill him (not without cause).

When the sun sets, Jacob stops and falls asleep, during which he has his famous "Jacob's ladder" dream. God speaks to him in this dream, confirming the covenant with Abraham and Isaac.

When Jacob awakes he says, "Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it." The chapter goes on to say that Jacob was afraid and added, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of the God, and the gate of heaven." ...continue reading "The House of God – Genesis 28"

Joe's Boy Scout pack held their annual Pinewood Derby races this past weekend. But for Patrick and Joe, the fun started all the way back in mid-November when we made our annual sojourn to Larry and Dede Mayfield's house for assistance getting the car's shape just right. This year, Joe transformed the standard block of wood into a knight, straight off of the chess board.

In October, my husband and I went "back to church". We started attending a new church, Rocky Mountain Calvary, which had been introduced to us through friends years ago.

I am now in a women's bible study which is studying the names of God, using Kay Author's book, Lord, I Want to Know You.

I'm awake in the middle of night. Sadly, this isn't exactly a rare occurrence.

Also not rare, I can't get back to sleep because I'm angry about something and I am ranting about it in my head over and over and over.
I have had this problem my whole adult life.
